Hey guys! It's finally time for my very first review. I have been melting wax for a while now but I just recently got into the vendor wax world and I'm loving it!
Anyways, I've bought from a couple vendors so far (will get those reviews up soon) I've bought from Gypsy Monroe twice now and I just love the wax, the quality of it and how beautiful it is and how good it smells. And her wax is very reasonably priced and shipping isn't bad either, I will definitely keep on repurchasing from April. Below I'll post photos of each item I've ordered and will list the name, scent notes and what I think about it. Later on, I also plan to do a melt review but until the wax has cured I will be doing this little review for now. I hope you all enjoy it and go check out Gypsy Monroe on Etsy.
The photo below is everything I got in my 2nd order (I will post pictures of each item indivudally from both orders I've placed, and review all items. So this post might get a tad long.
The first two items I will review are both loafs that I've ordered. The first loaf is Halloweentown and the scent notes are Caramel Apple + Funnel Cake + Cotton Candy + Candy Corn. The second loaf is Dusky Haze and the scent notes are Bourboned Pumpkin + Vanilla Wafer + Toasted Marshmallow.
Halloweentown smells just like the scent notes and it truly reminds me of going to a fair during fall and smelling the cotton candy, funnel cakes and caramel apples and I can smell the candy corn in it too and so that reminds me of trick or treat. It's such a good fall scent altogether. I wasn't sure how well all the scent notes would mix together but it's beautiful and they blend together just right. It's a pretty sweet scent, so if you don't like very sweet scents this may not be the one for you. I just love this though and love how it takes me back to my childhood and going to the fairs, it was the first thing I thought of when I sniffed it. And the detail on the loaf is just beyond beautiful. I adore the little skulls and bones and the pumpkin, and the colors really do remind you of Halloween. I almost don't want to cut into this loaf cause it's so cute. But I'm very excited to melt it and let you all know how it performs. Next up is Dusky Haze, and this loaf is just as cute as the first one. Look at that adorable skeleton, how cute is that? I love it! I love skulls so I just had to snatch that loaf up and I'm so happy I did. On cold, I definitely smell the bourboned pumpkin and it's a bit strong but I love that. The first time I sniffed it I didn't get any vanilla wafer or toasted marshmallow but after a couple more times of smelling it I did smell it finally and oh my, it blends perfectly together with the bourboned pumpkin and I love that hint of vanilla in there and the toasted marshmallow just enhances the vanilla wafer. This one is an amazing fall scent again, and I'm gonna be sad when I cut into this cute loaf but I'm excited to melt this and see how it smells warmed.
Up next are the two Souffle cups that I ordered. The first one is It's Fall Yall and the scent notes for it are Cider Lane (type) + Whipped Vanilla Cream. The second one is My dear, dear snow white and the scent notes for it are Mac Apple + Birthday Cake + Marshmallow Frosting.
It's Fall Yall smells exactly like its description, the scent notes are both very present. On cold sniff, I definitely smelled more of the cider lane but then the second and third time I sniffed it I smelled the whipped vanilla cream in it more as well. It smells so amazing and it just reminds me of fall nights cuddled up on the couch and watching Halloween movies while drinking apple cider. The cider lane smells just exactly like the Bath and Body candle and I absolutely adore that candle. April actually sent me a sample of its Fall Yall in my very first order and after smelling it I had to have more and in a much bigger quantity so I'm very happy I could get my hands on the souffle cup. Both scent notes blend together so beautifully and it smells heavenly and just like fall. And the souffle cup is just too pretty. I love the little flower and the leave embeds and all the glitter, this one is definitely one of my top three favorites for sure. My dear, dear snow white is so amazing as well. I had no idea how much I loved Mac Apple but I really love it and with the birthday cake and marshmallow frosting it's even more amazing. On cold, I smell the mac apple right away, but I also get the sweetness of the birthday cake and the marshmallow and it just enhances the scent even more. I have a feeling this is going to be so amazing when melting. I love any type of birthday cake and marshmallow scents so when I saw the scent notes on this I was really excited and curious to see how the mac apple would blend with them, and it is just perfect. If you like sweet scents and apple scents I think you would like this one a lot. And the detail on this is just as beautiful too. Isn't that rose just beautiful? And all that glitter! I love it. And I honestly think that the name for this one is just perfect, it just fits it well.
Up next is Pink Cadillac and the scent notes are Pink Sugar + Peppermint + Toasted Marshmallow.
Pink Cadillac is so good, I love Pink Sugar blends and I absolutely love peppermint and toasted marshmallow so I was almost certain I would love this and I do. I definitely smell the pink sugar in this right away along with the peppermint and they blend together so beautifully and after smelling it a couple more times I could start to smell the toasted marshmallow as well, but both the pink sugar and peppermint seem to be stronger to me ( I don't mind one bit!) this is such a beautiful blend and I'm so glad I got this, I actually think I might go back to the website and get the loaf of this.
Now onto the last few things. First up is Mermaid Snack which is Salty Sea Air + Graham Cracker + Toasted Marshmallow. Next is Bedrock Soda Shoppe and the scent notes for it are Fruity Pebbles + Fizzy Soda and last but not least is Cake By The Ocean and the scent notes for it are Salty Sea Air + Angel Food Cake + Strawberries + Whipped Cream.
Mermaid Snack I've actually already melted (and am currently melting it as I type this up) I was a little worried when I first ordered this because I had no idea if I would like salty sea air but the blend sounded so good that I wanted to give it a try, and when I first got it and opened up the clamshell I fell in love with the scent. You definitely get all three scent notes on cold, but when it's warming it's even better and the scent throw is just fantastic. I can smell the salty sea air really well but I also smell the graham cracker and toasted marshmallow perfectly and it's just so beautiful, it reminds me of roasting marshmallows on the beach and I just love the scent so much. I will be repurchasing this if it is ever in another restock because this is just a beautiful scent and I love the memory that comes with it while I warm it. I'm going to skip ahead to Cake By The Ocean since it was actually part of my order, Bedrock Soda Shoppe was the sample that April had included in my second order. Cake By The Ocean is really amazing (and I love the name of it too) and the anchors are just way too adorable. On cold, I can smell the salty sea air well and the cake scent of the angel food cake, and after a couple more times of smelling it I also could smell the strawberries and the whipped cream and all of the scent notes come together beautifully and it just smells delicious, it truly does smells like you're eating a cake by the ocean!
Last but not least, is the sample of Bedrock Soda Shoppe. I'll be honest, I almost bought this with my order but I was worried I might not like the fizzy soda part to it so I just decided not to get it (now I'm kicking myself for not getting it) but thank you April for sending this as a sample, because oh my goodness I adore this scent so so much!! I had no idea I'd like fizzy soda scents but I guess I do (and if you read this, please please bring it back in another restock sometime) it smells just like it's description. As soon as I first sniffed it I could totally smell both the fruity pebbles and the fizzy soda, the fizzy soda is a tad bit stronger than the fruity pebbles but you do definitely get both of them and they blend together so well. I had no idea that a fruity scent could pair so well with a soda scent, but this is just fantastic and I can't wait to melt this. This actually kind of reminds me of orange soda a little and I love it. I honestly wish I had bought this to just try it out but I'm very happy I got it as my sample and if it does ever come back I'm gonna need to buy it in a loaf.
